Hardware requirements
- A Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G4 or G5 processor and AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) graphics card
- 384 megabytes (MB) of random-access memory (RAM)
- 350 megahertz (MHz) or faster processor
- For RT Extreme, a single 500 MHz or faster PowerPC G4 (550 MHz for PowerBook G4) or any dual PowerPC G4
- To use DVCPRO HD, you must have a Power Macintosh computer with a 1 GHz or faster processor and 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM.
Note: To use Soundtrack you must have a Power Macintosh computer with a 450 MHz or faster dual processor or a 500 MHz or faster single processor; 512 MB of RAM is also recommended.

- Mac OS X v10.3.2 or later
- QuickTime 6.5 or later
Available hard disk drive space
Final Cut Pro HD and its associated applications require a certain amount of free disk space:
- 1 GB available disk space required for application installation.
- Optional installation of all Soundtrack and LiveType content: 14 GB available disk space is necessary.
