       During installation of Mac OS X Server, a number of devices are probed and initialized.  Booting in verbose mode (-v argument) allows you to watch the initialization process as Mach/BSD initializes the system.
        DISCUSSION To aid in following the flow, and to better understand Open Firmware designations, here is a short list of some of the more important devices:
