TOPIC

You can change the password of any user in Mac OS X Public Beta. This article describes how to change the password of an administrator and a normal user.

DISCUSSION

You can use the Multiple Users control panel to reset a user's password, or an administrator's password on a computer with more than one administrator. Follow these steps:
      1. Log in as an administrator whose password you haven't forgotten.
      2. Open the Multiple Users application in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on the Mac OS X disk.
      3. Click the lock icon.
      4. Type in the user name and the password of the administrator whose password you haven't forgotten.
      5. Select the user who has forgotten his password.
      6. Click Open User.
      7. Enter a new password in both the Password and Verify fields.
      8. Click Save.

Important: Administrator users should never have a blank password.
