Symptom
- Built-in floppy disk drives show no sign of activity when a disk is inserted. The floppy disk does not appear on the desktop, or in a Finder window.
- You must eject the disk manually using a paper clip or restart from Mac OS 9 to eject the disk.
Solution
1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click Startup Disk.
3. Select a Mac OS 9 System Folder.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Either copy the information from the desired floppy disk(s) onto your hard disk or use the Disk Copy utility to create disk images of the floppy disk(s).
Note: Be sure to put the copied files or disk images in a location that is accessible when the computer is started up from Mac OS X. A folder in your Home directory would be the best place to put the files.
6. Open the Startup Disk control panel.
7. Select the Mac OS X System Folder.
8. Restart the computer.
