Symptom
When you open Server Admin at a Mac OS X Server 10.2 or later computer, an alert box with this message appears:
"You can't connect to this server with this version of Server Admin. You must first install the version of Server Admin that came with the server to which you want to connect."
Solution
Mac OS X Server 10.2 replaces Server Admin (used in versions 10.0.3 to 10.1.5) with a new set of administration applications. Server Admin is not installed with Mac OS X Server 10.2 or later. It may be present if the server was upgraded from a previous version, or you can copy it manually to the server.
Though the alert appears, you can still use Server Admin from a version 10.2 server to control a remote server that is version 10.0 to 10.1.5. Server Admin cannot control the version 10.2 server on which it resides.
Note: Server Admin cannot be used to add users to groups on a 10.0.3 to 10.1.5 Server when used from a 10.2 computer (server or client). You may, however, change a user's primary group ID.
