Mac OS X 10.2: Contents of Windows (SMB) Volumes Not Automatically Refreshed in Finder

Symptom

At the Windows computer that is sharing, files are added to a Windows shared volume; but they do not appear there in the Mac OS X Finder. (The directory listing is not refreshed).


Solution

To see an updated view of the shared SMB volume:

• Using the Mac OS X 10.2 Finder, create a new folder or copy a file to the directory you wish to refresh, or
  
• Eject (unmount) the shared SMB volume and reconnect to it.
