Mac OS X 10.2: German-Localized Mail Application May Not Keep Sent Mail Messages

The German-localized version of Mail 1.2 may not keep sent mails in the Sent folder.
Symptom

Sometimes Mail does not save outgoing messages in the Sent folder, even if the preference for deleting sent mail in the Special Mailboxes tab is set to never.


Solution

Update to Mac OS X 10.2.4 or later.
