Mac OS X Server: Some Features Require Use of the Password Server

The following features require use of the Password Server:

Password Options:

• Imposing minimum length
• Forcing change of password
• Preventing users from logging in after certain date
• Preventing users from logging in after a period of inactivity

Authentication Options:

• SMTP Authentication (Using CRAM-MD5)
• POP Authentication (Using APOP)
• Secure (non-clear text) SMB Authentication (Using NT/Lan Manager)
