Macintosh Manager 2: Home Directory Is Not Created When Logging In With Administrator Password

When you log in using an administrator account password, the account's home directory is not created.
Symptom

When you log in using an administrator account password, the account's home directory is not created. This message also appears:

Note: If offline access is not enabled, the alert message will not include the offline information.

When offline access is allowed, and the user chooses not to work offline, you aren't able to log in using a different account on this computer. When you try to log in using a different account, you see the message in Figure 1.


Solution

Either log in using the account's actual password, or use the createhomedir command on the server to create the home directory for this account before logging in. See technical document 107245, "Mac OS X Server: How to Use createhomedir Command to Create Home Directories" for more information on the createhomedir command.
