Mac OS X Server 10.2: Users With Passwords Left Blank Cannot Log In

Users with passwords intentionally left blank are sometimes unable to log in to a server or connect to a share point. If you experience this, you should reset the password as described here.
Symptom

A user with a blank password cannot log in.


Solution

Follow these steps:

You have reset the blank password, and the user should be able to log in without a password.
