Symptom
When a user tries to log in, the Power Mac G5 NetBoot client stops responding.
This usually affects NetBoot images that were created using the Network Image Utility in Mac OS X Server. NetBoot images created from existing systems are usually not affected.
Solution
- At the server, log in as the root user. For help with this step, see technical document 106290, "Mac OS X: About the root User and How to Enable It".
- In Server Settings, stop the NetBoot service.
- Unlock the NetBoot image.
- Open Disk Copy and use it to resize the NetBoot image, adding about 100 MB.
- Start the NetBoot service in Server Settings.
Note: This issue does not occur in Mac OS X Server 10.3 or later.
