TechTool Deluxe: False "Problems" Reported When Used With Mac OS X 10.0

Use TechTool Deluxe with Mac OS 9. With Mac OS X 10.0, a variety of false "problems" are reported.

Symptom

After copying TechTool Deluxe to your Mac OS X 10.0 hard disk and opening it to test your computer, TechTool Deluxe generates a report with one or more false "problems".

Solution

Start up the computer with Mac OS 9 before testing with TechTool Deluxe.

Important: This does not apply to the dual system version of the AppleCare Protection Plan CD (Includes both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X on a single CD). This CD contains a version of the TechTool Deluxe application that works correctly using Mac OS X. Follow the directions on this CD on how to run TechTool Deluxe for Mac OS X.
