When you choose Open from a Mac OS X application's File menu, you can select from visible folders and directories.
To open a file that's in a hidden directory follow these steps:
- From the application's File menu, choose Open. An Open window appears.
- Press the Solidus ("/") key, commonly called the "forward slash key." A "Go to the folder" sheet and field appears.
- Type the path to the directory or file that you want to open.
Note: Mac OS X Panther may automatically complete the path as you type it.
- Press Return.
