Mac OS X Panther includes Keyboard Viewer, which is equivalent to Key Caps.
To use Keyboard Viewer, first enable it in International preferences:
- From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
- From the View menu, choose International.
- Click Input Menu.
- Enable the Keyboard Viewer palette.
- Enable "Show input menu in menu bar".

After Keyboard Viewer is enabled, you can use it by choosing Keyboard Viewer from the menu that looks like a flag. It's in the upper right corner of your screen.
