When using a large capacity iPod with a Windows-compatible computer, it can take a while to eject the iPod when it contains many photos and it does not have the "disk use" option enabled. To speed up the time to eject the iPod, select the "Enable disk use" option.
Set "Enable disk use" in Windows
In iTunes 7.0 or later
- Connect your iPod to your computer.
- When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it.
- If the Summary pane isn't showing, click the Summary tab.
- If not checked, select "Enable disk use." This will automatically be checked and dimmed if "Manually manage music and videos" is checked.
- Click the Apply button in the bottom right-hand corner of the iTunes window.
In iTunes 6.05 or earlier
- Connect iPod photo to the computer.
- Open iTunes.
- From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
- Select the iPod tab.
- Select the General tab.
- Select the "Enable disk use" checkbox.
- Click the OK button to close the iTunes Preferences.
