iPod shuffle and Motorola phones featuring iTunes: What‘s that gray dot in iTunes?

If you see a song in iTunes with a gray dot next to it, it means the song has not been synced yet to the iPod shuffle or Motorola phone featuring iTunes. Once you sync the song, the dot will go away.

While the song is being synced, the dot will change into two rotating arrows.

The gray dot may remain next to the song if it could not be sent to the iPod shuffle or Motorola phone featuring iTunes. Check here for possible reasons the song might not have synced.
