Asian text may become unreadable if you copy text from a native Mac OS X application (such as TextEdit) and paste it into a Classic application (such as SimpleText). This may happen if you're using Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
To resolve this issue, instead of copying and pasting text, drag and drop it like this:
- Open both applications so that you can see the original text and the document in which you want to place the text.
- Select the text in the original document that you want to transfer. If you want to select it all, press Command-A.
- Drag the selected text and drop it in the Classic application's document window. That's it!
