Mac OS X 10.4: When to use PPPoE over AirPort

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger allows you to use Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) over AirPort. This feature is intended for very specific situations. It should only be used when the base station is in wireless bridge mode and when one of these conditions applies:

• Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has issued hardware designed for this feature.
• When required by certain wireless hot spots, primarily outside the United States.
• Your local network administrator says it's required.

Unless it's required, you probably don't need to be using this feature.
