Remote Desktop 2.0, 3.0: Unable to access client when Common Criteria audit is enabled

When you enable the auditing feature in Common Criteria Tools, the system may not be available in Remote Desktop. You can work around this by toggling the Remote Desktop service off and back on in the Sharing System preference pane. Or you can use the following command to restart Remote Desktop:

sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/kickstart -restart -agent

Both of these workarounds will allow Remote Desktop to work until the client is restarted. After restarting, you must apply the workaround again.

The issue only occurs with certain combinations of software. It does not occur with Apple Remote Desktop 3.0 or later in combination with Mac OS X 10.4 or later and Common Criteria Tools for Mac OS X 10.4.
