If you install Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger over Mac OS X 10.3 using an Archive and Install installation, the Help files for iCal 2.0 (included with Tiger) will need to be updated. Otherwise, you'll see the Help content for iCal version 1.5 when you open Help from within iCal 2.0.
To update these files in Mac OS X 10.4, follow these steps:
- Open the Applications folder.
- Control-click the iCal application icon.
- In the resulting shortcut menu, choose Show Package Contents; an "iCal.app" window opens with a Contents folder in it.
- Open the Contents folder, then the Resources folder within it.
- In the Resources window, look for folders whose names end with a ".lproj" extension. For easier finding, view the window as a list, then sort it by Kind (click the Kind header). Note that there are different ".lproj" folders for different languages, including English.lproj and German.lproj.
- Open the .lproj folder for the language that you want to use.
- Open the iCal Help folder in this folder.
- Delete the "iCal Help.html" file (not a folder). Do not delete the similarly named " iCalHelp.html" (note that it has no space in the name) or any other files.
- Repeat steps 6–8 for any other languages for which you want to update iCal Help.
