The AirPort Express Assistant will not work as expected after installing the Microsoft software update titled, "Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2)/Wireless Provisioning Services Information Element (WPS IE) update for Windows XP with Service Pack 2." If you have this update installed, you get an error message when launching AirPort Express Assistant on your Windows XP computer.
As a workaround, use AirPort Admin Utility instead of AirPort Express Assistant.
