When using a third-party hardware device with any version of Mac OS X, it's a good idea to use the latest versions of the device's driver and firmware (that work with your operating system) available from the device's manufacturer—especially after you've upgraded. Otherwise, the device might not work, even if it worked with a previous version of Mac OS X.
