Mac OS X 10.4: Can‘t bind to a Directory Service with hyphen in computer name

You may not be able to join, or bind to, a Directory Domain such as LDAP or Active Directory if your computer name contains a hyphen.

To allow binding, use a computer name that does not contain a hyphen.
