Issue or symptom

The JBoss Management Console may not work in Safari with Mac OS X 10.4.5 or later and Java 1.5. This article explains how to revert to version 1.4.2 of the Java plug-in to resolve the issue.
Solution
  - Make sure that Java is enabled in Safari: Open Safari Preferences and click Security. "Enable Java" should be selected.
  - Quit Safari.
  - In the Finder, navigate to (/Applications/Utilities/Java/J2SE 5.0). You can do this by selecting Go to Folder from the Go menu, then going to /Applications/Utilities/Java/J2SE 5.0.

Note: If this folder is not present, then you don't have Java 1.5 installed.

   - Double-click Java Preferences. In the General tab, select "Use version J2SE 1.4.2".
  - Click Save, then quit Java Preferences.
  - Open Safari and load the JBoss Management console at (https://localhost:40000).
