iTunes 7.4 for Windows: Low bit-rate AAC files may sound distorted

Issue

In some cases, audio files encoded in iTunes 7.4 on Windows may sound distorted, or may play back with the wrong duration. This can happen if you choose a low bit-rate (80 kbps or lower) for encoding in iTunes preferences.

Solution

To prevent this issue, update to iTunes 7.5.
