Mac OS 9: "Apple DVD Player does not support the video card or settings used for the main screen" Alert

An alert box with this message appears:

"Apple DVD Player does not support the video card or settings used for the main screen".

Solution

• If you're using Mac OS 9, disconnect the external display and adapter.
• Use Mac OS X. Mac OS X DVD Player allows you to play the movie on the external monitor.
