Apple Hardware Test gives "2CPU/10/9 CPU0" or similar alert on Power Mac G5 (June 2004)

Have you gotten an alert that says "2CPU/10/9 CPU0" or something similar when running Apple Hardware Test? Learn why you may not need to worry about it.

If you run Apple Hardware Test version 2.2.2 or earlier on a Power Mac G5 (June 2004) computer with either dual 1.8 GHz G5 microprocessors or dual 2.0 GHz G5 microprocessors, you may see an alert like the one above. It might be slightly different - the digit shown as 9 above may be a different number, or "CPU0" may be "CPU1".

If you see this alert, ignore it. A newer version of Apple Hardware Test, version 2.2.4, is expected to fix this and is expected to be made available soon. This article will be updated with more information as soon as the new version is available.
