Files written, cached, or explicitly saved by a Mac OS X 10.2.5 client to an Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) server may become unusable under certain circumstances. Update to Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later to prevent this issue.

Products Affected

Mac OS X 10.2

Symptom

Files written via AFP no longer work as expected.

Note: Examples of AFP connections are Apple File Service, Personal File Sharing, and AppleShare. Copies performed in the Mac OS X Finder are not likely to be affected.

Solution

Update to Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later.
