Newton MessagePad: Changing Fonts in To Do List

If I change the default font or style by opening the Styles icon in the Extras drawer, the font or style is changed everywhere except the To Do List. Why?

The Newton MessagePad's To Do List does not use the default font settings as chosen in Styles; it defaults to plain 12 point text. After you have entered text in the To Do List, you can select this text, and change its style by opening the Styles icon.
