Power Macintosh: Upgrade Card and Card Control Panel (3/94)

This article briefly describes the new Control Panel that comes with the Power Macintosh Upgrade Card.

Macintosh computers with a 68040 processor direct slot can be upgraded to a PowerPC processor via an expansion card. In order to support this card, a Power Macintosh bootable system folder is required. Within this system folder is a Power Macintosh specific system enabler and a new control panel.

The Power Macintosh Card Control Panel allows the user the option of selecting which processor to use. This selection is made via the Power Macintosh Card control panel. It is a simple off or on selection. The system has to be restarted for the new selection to take effect.
