Receiving error tones after installing the Power Macintosh Upgrade card can indicate a problem with either the DRAM installed in the system or the card itself.
You may test this by removing the extra DRAM from the Macintosh. If the card now functions properly, the DRAM may not be within Apple specifications or could be installed incorrectly.
If the card continues to fail with DRAM removed, disconnect all devices attached to the SCSI port and test again. If the card continues to fail, try a replacement Power Macintosh Upgrade Card.
