After checking with The Learning Company and Hewlett Packard, it appears that the Hewlett Packard drivers for the all the 500 series Deskwriters are not compatible with any version of The Writing Center previous to 1.05. The problem with the drivers lies in the way they deal with color graphics.
The Learning Company has an update available to update your copy of The Writing Center to version 1.05. If you already have version 1.05 of the Writing Center, then the update may have been performed incorrectly and you should contact The Learning Company.
