Power Macintosh: Compatible with Original External AppleCD SC

Is the AppleCD SC External CD drive compatible with the Power Macintosh using Apple CD Setup 4.5 that comes with the Power Macintosh?
The AppleCD SC external CD-ROM drive is compatible with Power Macintosh computers. If there are problems mounting CD's, check for proper termination, that the most current version of the CD-ROM driver software is installed, and use cables that are properly shielded.
