Many hard drive manufacturers provide detailed specifications of their hard drives on the World Wide Web. To find out the specifications of your hard drive, you need to know the following items:

Use Apple System Profiler to find out the manufacturer and model of your hard drive. In Apple System Profiler, go to the Select menu, choose Device Information, and select your hard drive. If you do not have Apple System Profiler, you can download it from Apple Software Updates sites.
