Macintosh Manager 2: Documents Stored in Two Places in Mixed Mac OS Environment

Macintosh Manager 2.0 stores files belonging to a user's Documents folder in two different places, depending upon the version of Mac OS on the client workstation (Mac OS 8 or 9). This can be confusing to a user working in a mixed environment, and can lead to the mistaken belief that documents have been lost.

Symptom

Files saved to the Documents folder on one client workstation do not appear in the Documents folder of another client workstation.


Solution

Update to Macintosh Manager 2.0.3 or later.

~/Documents/

Affected Mac OS 8 client files are stored in this folder:

~/Library/Documents/

Note: The tilde character (~) represents the user's Home directory.
