The PC compatibility card networking software will attempt to use the 100-base-T card for networking, whenever that card is active in the MacOS environment.
Although you will have some limited functionality, you usually won't be able to do more than see the remote systems, or at best, transfer a few small files.
Although the PC environment seems to "see" the network, this configuration is not considered a tested or supported configuration by Apple. Apple recommends either disabling the driver for the 100-base-T card whenever networking is to be used in the PC environment, or removing the card altogether. There are no plans to add support for this card in the PC environment.
