It is important to install the software on the iPod CD included with iPod photo. When installing the software on a Windows-compatible computer, you will be prompted to format the iPod.
This will change the format of the iPod from Mac OS Extended to FAT32.
Warning: The format process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
After iPod is formatted and you select the Next button in the Installer, it is normal for it to take some time before the Serial Number window appears.
If at any time during the install the "iPod Not Readable" dialog appears, click cancel.
