If you see one of the following alerts, you may not have the BSD Subsystem of Mac OS X installed:
- If you're running Mac OS X 10.2.6 through Mac OS X 10.2.8, you may see this message when you try to install Virex 7.5.1:
Virex 7.5 requires Mac OS X v10.2.6 or later.
- If you're running Mac OS X 10.3 or later, you may see this alert when you try to run eUpdate:
An error occurred while installing the update. The eUpdate was not completed.
If you see either of these alerts, check to see which version of Mac OS X you are running. To do this, from the Apple menu, choose About This Mac. To install the BSD Subsystem, find instructions for your Mac OS X version below:
If you're running Mac OS X 10.2 through Mac OS X 10.2.5:
- From the Apple menu, choose Software Update, and update your operating system to Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later. Then install the BSD Subsystem by following these instructions.
If you're running Mac OS X 10.2.6 through Mac OS X 10.2.8:
- Install the BSD subsystem. Find instructions on how to do this here.
If you're running Mac OS X 10.3 or later:
- Reinstall Mac OS X 10.3, and make sure that you select BSD Subsystem when you perform the installation. For more information about the BSD Subsystem, click here.
