DVD-ROM Drive: Distinguishing from CD-ROM Drive
How can you tell which Macintosh ship with a DVD-ROM drive?
The DVD-ROM drive that Apple ships with some units will have a DVD logo on the tray door. If the logo is not present, then the drive is a standard CD-ROM drive.
