Incorrect date could prevent iPhoto from using HomePage or .Mac Slides feature

If the computer's date and time are set incorrectly, you may not be able to use the HomePage or .Mac (pronounced "dot Mac") Slides features of iPhoto.
When you try to use the HomePage or .Mac Slides feature of iPhoto, this message appears:

The computer's date and time may be set to a date other than the current date. To correct this:
  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. From the View menu, choose Date & Time.
  3. Click the Date & Time tab, if necessary.
  4. Select the correct date and time.

Additional information

If you unplug your computer for an extended period, or if the battery of a portable computer is completely emptied, the date may revert to 1970, or to an earlier year. Make sure to check your computer's date and time settings if the computer has been without power.
