All power must be disconnected before the modem can be installed. The AC
adapter must be disconnected, the main battery removed and the battery cover
must be in place to shut off the backup battery to insure the unswitched +5
volt connection is disconnected. If the power is not completely shut off, the
modem may be damaged.
Note: This action will cause all RAM to lose power. This will erase RAM disks,
reset all Control Panel settings including the system clock and lose any
unsaved documents which are open.
This procedure is also the recommended method to hardware reset the modem.
