AppleShare PC 2.0: How To Configure for DOS 4.0

I have installed a 3COM EtherLink/MC card into a PS/2 Model 50z running DOS
4.0.

I also installed AppleShare PC 2.0 with EtherLink/MC options (with standard
setting on the interrupt level, DMA, and and so on). I have no other interface
cards except a 1MB RAM upgrade in the machine.

However, when I restart the machine, it hangs at:

"Initializing AppleTalk. One moment please..."

Is AppleShare PC 2.0 incompatible with DOS 4.0, or did I do something wrong?

AppleShare PC 2.0 is compatible with DOS 4.0, but it appears that you missed
one item.

You need to select "3" as the primary interrupt line for the MLID used by this
card (ETHER$). If you leave the default interrupt line intact, it will
certainly fail.

Both the default primary memory address 0C0000H and the default primary port
address 0300H are correct and do not need to be changed.
