AppleWorks 6: How to Tint a Painted Image

This article explains how to tint a painted image.
Tinting an image shades it with a pale wash of the current fill color.

To tint an image:
In the Tools or Accents window, choose a color from the fill color palette.
Select the area you want to tint.
Choose Tint from the Transform menu.

Tip: To tint the selected area quickly, click the tint button in the Button Bar.

To increase the tint effect, choose Tint several times.

If you don't see the Transform menu:
If the item you want to tint is in a painting frame, make sure you enter the frame to edit it. If you see the Arrange menu and not the Transform menu, you are in a drawing document and therefore cannot tint images. In a drawing, you use different methods for changing the appearance of objects. (Because there are significant differences between painting and drawing features, it is important to choose whether you need to paint or draw before you begin creating something.)
