Filling cells with data from other cells
You can fill cells with the contents of the row above or the column to the left of the cells.
To fill cells below or to the right:
Select the cells containing the data you want to duplicate. (The cells to be duplicated must all be in the same row or column.)
Continue dragging downward or to the right until the selection includes all cells you want to fill with the duplicated data.
Choose Fill Down or Fill Right from the Calculate menu.
Note: When you fill using cells that contain formulas, AppleWorks updates relative cell references to fit the new location.
Filling cells with numbers, times, or dates
You can fill a range of cells with a series of numbers, times, or dates with an increment you specify.
To fill cells below or to the right:
Select the cells you want to fill with a series. (The cells to be filled must all be in the same row or column.)
Choose Fill Special from the Calculate menu.
Select the type of data for your series and the appropriate starting value and increment.
Filling cells with a repeating pattern of data
If a series of cells in the same row or column represents a pattern you want to repeat, you can fill cells below or to the right with the same pattern of data (for example, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter).
To fill cells below or to the right:
Select the cells containing the pattern of data you want to duplicate. (The cells to be duplicated must all be in the same row or column.)
Continue dragging downward or to the right until the selection includes all cells you want to fill with the duplicated pattern.
Choose Fill Special from the Calculate menu.
Select the Pattern option.
Type the number of cells that contain the pattern you want to repeat.
