A technique used to intersect two lines by using a third line to connect the two lines so that they do not meet at a sharp angle. This gives the look of a "beveled" corner.
In Claris CAD, you chamfer an intersection of two lines with the chamfer tool. It trims each line by a default or user-specified amount and draws a diagonal line between them.
