Claris CAD: Dashes on Objects

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
The user will be able to create dashed ovals, circles and arcs. To create polygons with dashed lines, the user can create a polygon, then unjoin the polygon into its component lines, and then dash the lines.

NOTE: Once circular objects are rotated, their dashed properties are not as good. This is due to a limitation in QuickDraw. Rotated dashed ellipses will not retain their dashes, they will revert to solid lines. If a user needs a rotated dashed ellipse, suggest that they create the ellipse with a method that allows them to create it rotated. This will circumvent the problem.

Why are dashes not implemented for polygons and freehand shapes?

Implementing dashed polygons and freehand shapes would have limited Claris CAD to PostScript output devices.
