Modifiers can apply to any movement in Claris CAD. For example to make one endpoint of an already existing line tangent to a given circle or ellipse, you can used modifiers.
To do so:
1. Select the endpoint modifier.
2. Pick up the line by a point close to the endpoint you want to be tangent. Hold the mouse button down.
3. Select the tangent modifier, by either dragging the mouse over to it and releasing the mouse.
4. Move the line to the point on the circle that you want it to be tangent to. Click the mouse over that point.
The endpoint of that line will snap to the circle with the line becoming a tangent to the circle.
