Note: This is only applicable to HyperCard Versions Prior to 1.2.5.
MacWrite II was used in the following example.
Here's how it works:
1. Launch MacWrite II 1.1.
2. Press command-?, or hit the "Help" button on the extended keyboard. The MacWrite II Help stack will now appear on screen.
3. Press command-m to bring up the HyperCard message box.
4. Type "go" and hit return.
You will now see the familiar ÒOpen...Ó dialog box. Actually, it will be asking ÒWhere is?Ó, but any HyperCard stack that you click on, such as your address book, will appear in the place of the Help stack.
To copy text from a stack launch in this manner simply hold the option key down and place the cursor at the beginning of a HyperCard text field. Drag across the text to select and copy normally. The information is now in your clipboard waiting to be brought into MacWrite II. To copy graphically, hold the command key down, and drag across the region you want, copy, and paste into MacWrite II.
Most buttons and navigational features will operate normally, and you can use your stack as you usually would, understanding that since HyperEngine is a subset of HyperCard, and doesn't support all of HyperTalk, not all features, such as scripts involving repeat loops, will be available, nor will all XCMDs operate properly.
