When buying a CalComp plotter, the dealer will give you a choice between getting an HPGL ROM or a proprietary CalComp GL ROM. The MacPlot driver included with selected Claris packages will work well with the CalComp plotters that emulate HPGL (i.e., those that have the HPGL ROM installed). CalComp offers the HPGL ROM pack - for those that didn't initially purchase one.
An alternative would be to purchase a plotter driver that offers direct support for the CalComp plotters. MacPlot Professional from Microspot, Inc., the publishers of MacPlot, supports the CalComp GL.
