MacDraw II: Font Substitution

Fractional Character Widths must be turned off in the Preferences dialog box in order for Font Substitution to work in MacDraw II 1.x.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
When Font Substitution is active it will, for example, replace the Geneva screen font with the Helvetica outline (or PostScript) font, giving you higher resolution on a LaserWriter. Additionally, New York is replaced by Times, and Monaco is replaced by Courier.

Be aware that character widths vary from one font to another. As a result, a line of type may be longer or shorter than it was before a font is substituted.
